Here’s What To Expect In The Housing Market This Year The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.27% as of last week, according to data released by Freddie Mac. That’s down 4 basis points from the previous week. Rates have dropped for the sixth week in a row. Rates were last at this level in mid-September. Last week, the 30-yr was at 6.31%. Stocks Rally On December Jobs Report The Labor Department's final jobs report of 2022 showed the U.S. economy added 223,000 payrolls last month while the unemployment rate fell to 3.5%. Economists had expected readings of 200,000 and 3.7%, respectively. The S&P 500 jumped 1.7%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 550 points, and Nasdaq advanced 1.5%. (Full Story) |
